Christianity 101

A lot of people are under the impression that all religions are basically the same. This is because most people are ignorant about what different religions teach. While there are a few similarities between religions (like they all have a version of the “Golden Rule”) their differences are far more important than their similarities. A glass of water might be 99% similar to a glass of water with one drop of cyanide in it, but believe me, that 1% difference is a life-or-death issue.

Jews, Buddhist, Hindus, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witness, and Muslims are all trying to keep commands, laws, teachings, rules, and pillars in order to earn their way to heaven, nirvana, or paradise.

Christianity is the only non-works-based religion in the world. While every other religion is striving to earn their way to heaven, Christianity alone says, we can never ever ever be good enough. All our best efforts fall short.

That’s why our Creator came to earth to save us. Paul explained “It’s by grace you have been saved through faith…it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”

A religion that says you don’t have to be good? Now that’s unique!
